How to buy glasses online
Choosing eyewear on a screen sounds risky. It is not, provided you know your measurements and send us the right prescription. Here is the whole process.
1. Pick the frame
Filter by shape, colour, material and size. Every listing shows lens width, bridge and temple length in millimetres.
2. Send your prescription
Upload a photo of the slip at checkout, or message it to us afterwards. Nothing to measure yourself.
3. Choose your lenses
Single vision, progressive or reading, with anti-glare, blue-cut and photochromic options priced up front.
4. We fit and ship
Lenses are cut, edged and mounted to your frame, checked against your prescription, then packed with a case and cloth.
Finding your size
The easiest method is to read the numbers printed inside the arm of a pair you already own. They look like 52 ▫ 18 – 145 and mean lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. Match those against the measurements on any listing and the fit will be close.
If you have never owned a pair, start with Medium and use the 30-day return window to swap sizes.
Reading your prescription
Your slip lists a row for each eye, usually marked OD (right) and OS (left):
- SPH – the main correction, minus for short sight and plus for long sight.
- CYL and AXIS – present only if you have astigmatism; they always appear together.
- ADD – an extra reading power, used for bifocal and progressive lenses.
- PD – the distance between your pupils. If it is missing, our optician will ask for it.
Send the whole slip rather than typing the numbers out. It takes you less time and removes the most common source of error.
Which lens should I choose?
- Single vision – one correction across the whole lens. Most people need this.
- Progressive – distance, middle and reading in one lens with no visible line.
- Reading – close work only.
- Blue-cut – worth adding if you spend long days on screens.
- Photochromic – clear indoors, darkening in sunlight.
Common questions
Can I use a prescription from another optician?
Yes. Any current prescription from a registered optometrist is fine. We only ask that it is still valid.
What if the frame does not suit me?
Send it back within 30 days and choose another. The frame needs to be in its original condition with the case.
Do you make lenses for frames I already own?
Message our optician with the frame details and we will tell you whether it can be re-glazed.
How long does an order take?
Non-prescription frames and sunglasses ship fastest. Prescription lenses take longer because they are cut and fitted to your frame.
